Detection of suicidal behavior in the educational context: the EPISAM-School Study

The Episam-School Study main objective has been to research the prevalence of suicidal behavior in adolescents aged 12-16 and to study the factors associated with suicide risk in the post-pandemic era. Through screening questionnaires completed via online school classrooms, the risk of suicidal ideation has been assessed in the child and adolescent population of schools in the Community of Madrid. Subsequently, this risk has been verified in a second individualized clinical evaluation conducted by a psychologist.

Preliminary results of the risk of suicidal ideation and behavior, as well as the rate of non-suicidal self-harm in the child and adolescent population of the Community of Madrid for the year 2023, are presented in this protocol.
